Our Cattle

At Glanmire Murray Grey Stud, our breeding objectives are carefully crafted to produce cattle that excel in every aspect of modern beef production. We focus on six key areas that ensure our animals are not only producing an extremely high quality and profitable meat product, but are also easy to manage and work with:

FERTILITY

We prioritize high reproductive rates, selecting for cows that consistently produce and raise healthy calves year after year. This emphasis on fertility translates to improved herd productivity and profitability

for our clients.

EASY MANAGEMENT

Time is valuable, so we select for traits that simplify

day-to-day operations. From calving ease to feed efficiency, our cattle are bred to reduce labour, costs and streamline management practices.

DOCILITY

Our Murray Greys are known for their calm temperament and their natural mothering ability. We believe that docile cattle are safer to handle, perform better, and produce higher quality meat. This trait is essential for both small-scale and large operations.

BEEF PRODUCTION

Quality and quantity are at the forefront of our breeding program. We focus on optimal growth rates, feed efficiency, and superior carcass traits to ensure our cattle meet and exceed market demands both commercially and in a farm to table business model.

EASE OF DOING

We breed cattle that thrive in various environments with minimal intervention. Our animals are adaptable, hardy, and require less intensive management, making them ideal for diverse farming situations.

SOUND STRUCTURE

Longevity begins with a solid foundation. We place great importance on structural correctness, selecting for animals with proper conformation that will remain productive for years to come.
